ADOPTED!! So happy for my little girl LizBeth, she had a really rocky road in KY, she was clearly beaten but she is SO much better & now she'll have her own Mom, 4-legged sister & a very own home where she will be protected & loved for the rest of her life. She'll be my 528th adoption since 2-24-18
** Be sure to watch LizBeth's video's below so you can see how very kind & gentle she is *** Let me tell you about this young girl. She is a Spaniel/Hound mix, petite (only 30 lbs) sweet, gentle little girl. LizBeth was in a shelter in KY & she had been so badly abused that she would fall to the floor & roll over in total submission. She has been here with me now for several months & she has come a very long way. She lives in my home & has found her spot on my sofa or chair where she can finally feel totally safe.
I liken what these dogs have been thru as PTSD in humans. What I find most amazing about dogs who have been literally beaten by sub-humans – inexplicitly --- they are still capable of loving people even though no one has ever shown them affection or kindness.
When LizBeth arrived & for quite some time her ears were flat down. One of my best feelings about being a foster mom is I get to see them feel well enough mentally that their ears pop straight up. Now, of course, this only with dogs whose ears were meant to be straight up. When a dog’s spirit has been crushed their ears go down but they pop-up as LizBeth has when she is finally about to be the dog she was meant to be ................
She's become very affectionate, gives me tiny little butterfly kisses of gratitude. She will require her adoptive family to have had experience with dogs who have been abused like her. She will improve day by day, month by month, but there is a chance she may always be afraid when meeting new people. She is not a fear-biter at all – she just falls to the ground when she scared. If you can see how lovely she is & think she might be the kind of girl you would love to bring into your life, be sure to read our adoption requirement’s & if you can meet or exceed them you can apply online at our website.
Adoption Requirements: *A minimum physical 4-foot high fence or is higher is always mandatory and must be installed.
