ADOPTION PENDING! So very happy for my Shelby. A very, very nice couple came to meet her today & she was instantly in love with them & even though I give all families 48-hours to think it over they called back to about 6-hours to say they knew she was the one for them. Taking her home on Saturday where she will reside in Norristown PA with her new parents Jodie & Steve! She'll be my 559th adoption since 2-24-2004.

Shelby is a Catahoula Leopard dog, about 1-year & I think she'll be about 50 lbs. when we get her weight up to where it should be. I know she is stunning & I love the way she looks & most importantly as her foster mom, I love her very sweet, gentle, extremely affectionate disposition. 

She was horribly abused by humans yet she is desperate for love & attention. When I walk past her she puts her nose in my hand so I'll pet her. When she sees me coming she wags her tail & her hips go from side to side. Another thing that she does that is so funny is Shelby also "smiles" when you talk to her. What a delightful young lady & she is hoping the perfect family will come along to give her the home she so richly deserves.  

Shelby must have also had some very bad situations with other dogs b/c she does not meet new dogs well at first -- she has a lot of fear which indicates to me that she must have been attacked by other dogs in KY. Once she gets to "know & trust" dogs she's fine but given that she is fearful when meeting new dogs --- it would be best if she were an only child.  

She did test positive for a tick-borne disease called Ehrlichiosis, but not to worry, she is not sick, just tested positive & has been treated aggressively with a full 6-week course of Doxycycline.

  ~ All LnF pups/dogs have been temperament tested & live in a foster home. ~ All pups and dogs have been housebroken (puppies are paper trained) & crate-trained and have had basic training ~ All pups/dogs have been Microchipped ~ Tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia & Lyme ~ Each dog is on Heartworm Medication & Flea/Tick year-round while in our care ~ Up to date with Rabies ~ Distemper, Parvo & Leptospirosis vaccines ~ de-wormed.  

 Our adoption fee includes (30) days of FREE pet insurance with an option to purchase -- but it's your choice. We strive to provide the BEST medical care available so that YOU are assured all our pups/dogs are healthy, up-to-date on all necessary shots, spayed or neutered by our rescue.  

Adoption Requirements:  *A minimum physical 4-foot high fence or is higher is always mandatory and must be installed.  Some dogs may need a 6-foot wood or vinyl fence & if so it's noted on their profile. We will not consider any applications that does not have an installed fence. We do NOT accept any type of electric fence, no exceptions.
