UPDATE: After 11 applications we finally found the perfect family for Shayla. She left today with her new parents, two little 2 legged sisters, and her big, big Akita brother to show her the ropes. She is a very lucky little girl and we are very happy for her.

It just goes to show that you cannot predict what you'll get from a mixed breed puppy. These pups looked just like Akitas when tiny, but they're not growing as fast as expected and their coats aren't as long. They now look more like the mixed breeds they are- still beautiful but not a true Akita look.

PLEASE NOTE:
Puppy Adoption Policies:
* We do not place puppies in homes where they will be left alone all day. Part-time employment is ok. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization, and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hours at a time.

* An installed fence is mandatory if there are children in the home. The Invisible Fence companies give a discount to people who adopt from rescues. The fence must be installed before an adoption application will be processed. There are no exceptions to this.

* We will only adopt puppies to people who have had PRIOR personal puppy raising experience. This policy is due to people wanting puppies, then finding out just how much work they really are, and then returning them or worse, dropping them off to shelters.

* We also can no longer adopt puppies/dogs to people who have children under (8) years old UNLESS the children have been raised with puppies and dogs all their lives. This policy has been made necessary due to having our pups returned after the novelty wore off. We're told it's because they have been "nipping" at the kids. That is what puppies do and we need to find our pups homes with people who understand and expect this as "normal" behavior.

Attention: Please read the Adoption Policies below before completing an application.

Shayla is almost 3 months old, and very sweet and gentle little girl. She loves her bones and loves to play ball and walks on the leash. She gets along with cats and dogs very well. Since she is an Akita Mix, she will prorbaly shed a lot and needs a family with Akita experience. As with all double coated dogs, she may require professional grooming or a family who has the time to brush her.

She has no food aggression she is very playful and has lots of energy. Shayla is a very outgoing little girl with a great temperament. She loves to share her toys with her friends at doggie day care that she goes to 6 days a week. She is almost potty trained.

She is still just an infant and it takes time for pups to learn everything they need to know. She is doing great she is a very wonderful little princess who needs a loving and devoted family
Angela, Shayla foster mom

This GORGEOUS puppy girl turned out to be Akita mix. That means she is not only going to beautiful, extremely smart, regal and adore her family, but she will have proabably have thicker coat. This baby is a bit smaller then her sister Tokyo on the right, and her coat is a bit lighter and thinner.
Preference for the Akita mix pups will be given to people who are experienced with the Akita breed and cherish them.
