About Dobie (Bobo) -ADOPTED | |

2/21/06 Dobie went to his new home today with two large 4 legged siblings and 2 parents who have an enormous photo album devoted just to their pets. He'll be adored just the way he deserves to be.
2/10/06 Dobie(AKA Bobo)is such a sweetheart, and such a GOOD boy too. He loves cats, dogs, and people, and is very well behaved, which is important in a big dog. He's also smart enough to learn the invisble fence in just days and is eager to please. We haven't tested him with kids yet, so we don't know about that.
2/01/06 from new foster home: Dobie (Bobo) is such a magnificent animal! He was clearly someone's pet, since he has dog license from WV, is house-trained and crate trained, and knows some basic commands. However, under his thick coat you can feel every rib and he doesn't seem to know what to do with bones or toys, so I don't think he was loved the way he deserves to be. He is such a gentle giant, such a sweetheart that the first thing he wants to do when he meets another animal is lick their face. My alpha male was not happy with that, but everyone else loves him already. For some reason, my husband keeps calling him Bobo, and everyone agrees it seems to fit him better, so he's Bobo to us!
UPDATE: Dobie has been everything promised as always by Rosy. He is an extremely sweet and gentle giant. When I put the food bowls out our puppies all gathered around and when he went to eat, a pup growled at him, and he backed off. So, no food aggression and the patience of a Saint. He also thought the kitty needed grooming so he gave him a bath!
He is so calm that we have allowed him to be in the living room with the family. He just wants to be near you but not in a pushy way. He is a pure delight and anyone would be very lucky to watch this pup grow up.
This is our new, very large, approximately 9 month old pup, named Dobie. He has arrived from our favorite shelter in West Virginia. Rosy has assured us he is a sweet and gentle boy. He is very loving and playful. He even slaps those big paws at you to play. She said he gets along with all the dogs and is even kind and patient with the puppies. We are having him neutered 01-30-06 and after a few weeks he'll be ready to go home. We will be accepting applications but we do need time to evaluate him in foster care.
All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:
SPAYED/NEUTERED
Microchipping
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Worming
Puppy Adoption Policies:
* We do not place puppies in homes where they will be left alone all day. Part-time employment is ok. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization, and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hours at a time.
* An installed fence is mandatory if there are children in the home. The Invisible Fence companies give a discount to people who adopt from rescues. The fence must be installed before an adoption application will be processed. There are no exceptions to this.
* We will only adopt puppies to people who have had PRIOR personal puppy raising experience. This policy is due to people wanting puppies, then finding out just how much work they really are, and then they return them or worse, drop them off to shelters.
* We also can no longer adopt puppies/dogs to people who have children under (8) years old UNLESS the children have been raised with puppies and dogs all their lives. This policy has been made necessary due to having our pups returned after the novelty wore off. We're told it's because they have been "nipping" at the kids. That is what puppies do and we need to find our pups homes with people who understand and expect this as "normal" behavior.
