Update on Snoopy from his new Mom:
Good Morning,
Snoopy’s first night went very well. He was in and out playing with Mufasa all night. We just love having him home. He is already getting settled in and even had Kiara running around the pool with him this morning. I attached a few new pictures of Snoopy and his new family and had to include one with his Foster Mom too!!
Snoopy has his first appointment with the Vet today and they are very excited to meet him!!
Thank you for everything!!
Our 399th adoption happened today - I've always been concerned in finding Quality homes --
rather then quantity. It took a long time to find the perfect home for Snoopy but today he met his new family. He has HUGE back yard & the 6 foot high fenced in that he required
so he can continue to catch bugs & chase butterflies ... it has become his life's work.
Thankfully he has a tiny (10 lbs) little 4 legged brother who enjoys sitting in his yard
waiting to catch his first bird. They took off today running in a gallop & it was just beautiful.
Made me remember why I do rescue to see my foster kids that happy.
Snoopy has a Mom, Dad, Grandmom (who will be home with him all day, another thing that
he required) an older 4 legged sister & a 2 legged brother & sister. Snoopy will be living
in South Jersey but that's only over the bridge. I'm so happy for my little man - he is going
to have a wonderful life just like I promised when he first arrived from Wetzel in WV.
(1) Snoopy requires a 6 foot wood or vinyl fence only. No others can be accepted since he has climbed out of 4 foot chain link & easily jumps over a 4 foot fencewith a running start. I would not place him in a home with a Petstop upgrade since he is so active with his "hunting" that I'm afraid he would get corrected too often.
(2) His foster Mom calls him Snoopy-Doopes & she knows him better then anyone on Earth since she has cared for him since he was just a baby. She said in order for him to be the truly happy little guy. When asked to describe himself Snoopy said, " I'm an extremely active pup who wants to be outside all day hunting for bugs & squirrels. The only time I don't mind being crated is when it's time to eat, for my naps & at bedtime. The rest of the time I'm on the GO - GO - GO so I would not be the happy pup I am now if you wanted to leave me alone in a crate all day while you're at work!!"
(3) He has shown no interest whatsoever with kids -- he ignores them completely. If you have children you should only consider adopting a dog who is what we call a "Bona-Fide Kid Lover" which we always state in a dog's profile. We always note if a dog loves kids but if we don't - it's because they have no interest or are already afraid of them from abuse before they came to us.
Snoopy came to us an unwanted, homeless puppy from Wetzel Shelter in WV. He seems to be a boxer/spaniel mix with an adorable little snubby tail that is always going 100 miles an hour! He is a small pup who is very sweet, full of love, just too cute & wiggly & you just can't help but smile when his little stubby tail is wagging .He seems to be an alpha male so we would NOT place him in a home with an alpha male. He would do best with a female or very submissive male.
He has become very protective of the backyard and guards it by running the perimeter numerous times a day and/or if anyone walks by. He has proven to be a "bona-fide bug & butterfly catcher" & has caught them in midair. He get's so engrossed in the "hunt" that he runs and has crashed into my 6 foot vinyl fence numerous times. I'm surprised he has not knocked himself silly! He hits my fence so hard that it sounds like a hockey player hitting the boards when checked.
