She was so happy to see me after spending three days in the hospital. I got her famous wiggle but and happy face. She is here resting in front of the fireplace, or the sofa or the bed.
The shots she got for the Heartworm are very, very painful so her butt does hurt and you can see that it is difficult for her to jump up on the sofa & bed but she manages. If you've ever had a really painful shot yourself in the muscle, that's what she is feeling. The site of the shots really still hurt but it will lessen as each day goes by.
So, we just want everyone to know that our dear Baby is ready to find just the right family who will give her all the love she deserves and she will love you more then you can imagine. She is just a tiny little lovebug full of love and devotion to whoever shows her kindness.
We would like to introduce you to our newest "Baby" who is here with us because we heard she was pregnant and was going to be put down.
Baby came to us from Mercer County, WV. She was scheduled to be gassed due to overcrowding, so we agreed to take her on her last day at the shelter. Three dedicated people dropped everything and drove the long distance to bring her here. She is a 1.5 year old yellow lab mix. We think she might have some beagle in her as she has the beagle ears and is a bit smaller than a yellow lab. Otherwise, she is very much a yellow lab. She is housebroken, very well mannered and calm. She is fine with all people (kids included) all dogs and cats. She is just an easy-going little dog. She actually hopped in the tub for us to give her a bath.
Baby was turned into the shelter by her owners because (and I'm not kidding): "She went and got herself pregnant!" I guess they have never heard of spaying. She turned out not to be pregnant at all and she will be spayed and fully vaccinated prior to adoption. This sweet girl will make a wonderful addition to one lucky family. Are you the right family for her?

Special Needs: UPDATE: PLEASE NOTE: We have news to report on our little Baby girl. She went for her vet check up today and was diagnosed with Heartworm. She is completely a-symptomatic and since she is so young our vet has assured us of a full recovery quickly. She will need to take it easy for awhile though. She started her treatment today but she will not be able to run and play for awhile. We're sorry but we will not be able to adopt Baby to a family with young children. She will want to play, they will want to play, but she needs to live in a quiet atmosphere while she recovers from her Heartworm treatment. She can be adopted but only to a family who understands her special needs. Luckily by nature for Baby, she is a very calm young lady so won't be to stressed about not being able to run & play for the next 3-6 months. Her favorite sport already is to get very comfortable on the sofa or our bed. She loves to be in a human bed! We hope we can find a family who would love nothing more then sharing their bed with our sweet little Baby.
