This is our pretty little 2-year-old Ginger. We named her that because that is the color of her pretty eyes and her beautiful coat. Her eyes and coat are the same exact color. She is small (only 35 pounds) very sweet, gentle, very calm, and loving. She is not a barker and is perfect with her potty training.

She is living in foster care with 5 other dogs and 2 cats. Now, our Ginger is what we call an alpha female. She really enjoys the company of her dog friends. She just needs for her friends to understand that she is the boss (and who could blame her?). Because of this, Ginger has asked us to make sure that there is not another bossy girl in her new home! She can live easily with submissive dogs and even an alpha male, just not another bossy female. It would be like trying to make me live with my mother-in-law!

Our poor girl came in from a shelter in Ohio where she had just had another little of pups. We’ll see to that she never has another litter. We don’t feel that she was actually abused but rather just completely neglected. Due to her neglect we just found out she has heartworm. She has already been treated for it and will make a complete recovery especially since she had no symptoms and is very young. She has received excellent medical care and will be perfectly healthy for the rest of her life when she goes to live with her new family.

Gin-Gin is a real people dog. She follows me around all day. She loves to be up on the sofa or on the floor or out in the backyard making sure those birds don't land in the yard. She is just so very happy to be with people. She seems to really show her gratitude for being saved. She seems thrilled to have a yard to run around with best girlfriend Hannah ... who is my new adopted daughter. That is Hannah with her in the one picture. They are always together. It is clear that no one ever cared for her but we intend to find the perfect family to love her forever. Ginger is very affectionate and is thrilled to finally have kindness from humans.

Ginger did think that cats were interesting … but only in the kindest way. Then she was hit very hard by one of our "dog-hater" cats and she just ducked away. I think his point was taken and she will happily avoid cat for the rest of her life.

If you think she may be the girl for you, please apply for Ginger.
