UPDATE: 10-21-06 - Our foster parents Yolanda & Rob have decided that it is best they adopt Phoebe. She is a very old girl (12) and while we have gotten several seniors adopted in the past -- we feel it is best that she has the opportunity to live her life out with our very special foster parents! Thank you Yolanda and Rob!!

7/30/06- Phoebe (was Lucinda) is doing so well now that she is being fostered in a loving home. I noticed she can see shadows and movement and light. She can see me walking towards her and follows me around everywhere. She totally loves human food and since she is twelve years old, she gets it's! So if you like to cook for your dog, she is a willing customer and will eat whatever you give her. Her favorite is bacon. She is so quiet and just like to walk around and sniff her environment, then she curls up in her comfortable bed and goes to sleep. She does require artificial tear drops 3 to 4 times a day, but she is such a trooper. She just needs a home to be loved and cherished in her twilight years.

7/15/06 Lucinda is a 20 pound pedigreed
Cocker Spaniel who is about 12 years old. She was found wandering
down a road in traffic and a good Samaritan stopped his car and
picked her up. She is blind, deaf (but that may be because her
ears are so badly infected) and she had open sores that had
Maggots in them --- story is exactly what happened to my Sweetie
when I rescued her.

She was taken to the Brandywine Vet Hospital and they contacted
all local vets and shelters to see if there were any reports of her
missing. No one has come forward to reclaim her. Her vet bills have
been donated by (which are substantial) by Brandywine so we would
just LOVE to find someone who would want to allow this little sweet
girl to spend what time she has left being cherished.

Of course we think she would do best with an older couple who
could devote themselves to taking care of her. NO small children
since she just needs to be someone's little Princess.

Special Needs: Senior citizen-blind & hearing impaired
