UPDATE: Our little WV Christmas hound went home to live in New Jersey today. He left with his new Mom and 2 legged big brother. There are not a lot of happy endings for hounds in WV but luckily for our sweet Drew he has the whole rest of his life to be loved and cherished --- as it should be.
So, what happens to Christmas puppies? To often, this story does. This is our new baby boy Drew who has arrived on our transport from Wetzel in WV on 07-29-06.
The picture shown was when he was a tiny cute puppy at Christmas when he was adopted. Now is a very cute boy shown below.
Rosy adopted this baby out around Christmas and now they are tired of him. Luckily for him he was returned instead of just let loose or actually dumped to fend for himself as is often the case in WV.
Here is what Rosy has to say about him:
Drew was adopted from us as a puppy and is now an unwanted "dog" and he will be hard to place as he is a typical "WV STRAY" He is a nice pup, well-mannered. We are told he is housetrained, about 9-10 months old, seems intelligent -- turns his head sideways when you talk to him. He is so sad and can't figure out why he is in a kennel at the shelter. Sad sad sad.
This little guy needs and deserves a family who will love him forever. Could that be you? He will be neutered by us on August 3rd.
All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet, gentle dispositions, and are living in foster homes with families. They each have had the following:
Already SPAYED/NEUTERED (pups under 5 months must be prepaid)
Microchipped
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus (as long as they are with us)
Complete series of Distemper, Parvo vaccines and Rabies.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Wormings
PLEASE NOTE: Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed
before we will proceed with processing an adoption application.
If you need a fence for your dog, but are not permitted to have a physical fence, or chose not to, please visit our friends at Pet Stop. Mention that you saw them at our website and they have promised to send us a donation to help our rescue work.

We do not adopt our puppies to people who work full-time. Part-time
is OK. We do not believe in leaving infants in crates all day.
We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
