Our little Spark has already been adopted. Her Mommy was so happy to be getting her she drove all the way to MD to pick her up with our transport from WV. This is what her new Mom & Brother Cody has to say:
Hi there, Everything is settling down and she is becoming part of our household without much effort. As I look at her more I think she is really a Dachshund/Beagle mix or something like that. I don’t think there’s any shepherd in her. Her black and tan markings resemble a dachshund and her personality seems to be a mix of those two more than shepherd… I love dachshunds and beagles too so she’s a great mixture…
She is going to see the vet tomorrow to get checked out and get some tests to see what shots are needed.
Marleen – let me know about finalizing her adoption. She’s a keeper!! And Cody thinks so too!

Poor sweet, gentle Spark-A-Doodle was abandoned at the shelter in WV after hours. She was so scared from being chained up outside alone all night that it took all day to get her to come to the staff.
Spark-a-Doodle is a petite (about 40 pounds) only about 1 year and spayed
and up to date with all her shots.
She is exceptionally gentle, well mannered and sweet and loves to be with people. She is very submissive with other animals. She would make a great addition to a loving family.
She has obviously been mishandled as she does shy away at quick movements and loud voices. If you speak kindly to her she will come to you, tail wagging and head down as if she is not allowed to make eye contact.
We have had "shelter kids" like this before and they really do come around with even a small amount of love & kindness. For some of them, it is the only kindness they've ever had from humans.
I don't think anyone can find more love then the love a dear girl like Spark will give you in return for giving her a chance to be a part of your life.

Spark is currently at the Wetzel County Animal Shelter, New Martinsville, WV
We are having her transported here to us in DE the weekend of March 12th.
