We are so happy to announce that we found the perfect family for our Ms Kita! She had moved to VA to start her new life with her very own Mom & Dad who adore Samoyed & will give her all the love & attention she craves.
She came in the front door of her new home - meeting her new parents for the first time - as if she had known & loved them her whole life. We always allow our dogs to *pick* their new family & there was no doubt Kita picked!
Kita has been evaluated for the MYM Program & we have determined she is a Constant Companion: Looking for an emotionally secure, mutually satisfying, low maintenance relationship? I am all you need. This is Kita, she is a stunning 7 year old purebred Samoyed who needs an extra special family to come along and adopt her. Sadly her beloved Daddy died suddenly this summer (my brother-in-law) & left her & her brother Skippy behind. Michael was the most devoted Dad & Kita & Skippy were his life.
Kita spent her life sitting on her Dad's lap with her head on his shoulder. She was extremely spoiled. He even fed them from his fork! There is a video below showing her right after her Dad died sitting next to her Uncle Jerry, who is Michael brother. It shows how sad she was & she leans & hugs for comfort.
Kita & Skippy had to come here to LNF Dog Rescue because no one else in the family could take them in. We were grateful we could provide a safe place for them but an issue has come up.
Kita is an alpha female, she is accustomed to living with her brother -- who she bosses around like a little brother. She wants to be the Queen of her home -- or at the very least a Princess. She does require a 4 foot fence.
While she LOVES her Uncle Jerry & gets up on his lap and puts her head on his shoulder -- she does not like living here with all these dogs. Most of my foster dogs are females & Kita growls at each of them all day - every day. I am afraid that some day soon she is going to growl at the wrong one (dogs do get fed up just like people) & they are going to get into a nasty fight. Based on my experience, it is just a matter of time.
This was a difficult decison but for her sake, we feel it would be better to adopt her into a family where she can be "an only child" or maybe a submissive male dog - NO females. She is extremely intelligent, affectionate, very playful -- there is a video below showing her doing her favorite thing - chasing a light on the carpet. Her Dad did this every day for with her. She adores going for a walk around the block. If you love the Samoyed & have room in your heart & home to make Kita happy again, we hope you will apply for her.
