UPDATE: Scottie, now Oakley has been adopted into a wonderful home. This little boy and his brothers Spock & Kirk are delightful, sweet, laid back little guys. Just waiting for the right families to come along for his brothers
so they can each have their own forever home.

Update from Scottie's Foster Mom:
Scottie is doing wonderfully, still not one mistake in the house. He is an absolute sweetheart. Scottie is a great companion and just desires to please. He is content to be outside and great with other dogs. We have to remind ourselves that he is a puppy because he is so well behaved. He really enjoys the beautiful Tasha as you see in his photos, they are almost inseparable. Scottie is not crazy about the crate but he takes it in stride. He does sleep in there at night but does make a fuss if he hears you in the morning. As with his brothers, Spock and Kirk, it is obvious that he was mistreated. He is very quick to show you his belly if he senses you might be upset, very submissive. Scottie is one of those dogs that you don't mind getting big kisses from. He is so gentle and just wants to smother you in kisses. He has very expressive eyes, and is a gentile sweet soul. Scottie would fit into any type of household.

Hi Marleen,
I am in love with a little dog! I never expected it but this little guy is so sweet! He is just one of those thankful dogs and he says it all with his eyes and his sweet and gentle kisses.

His behavior has been exemplary, not one mistake in the house and everything he has chewed was his. He loves to play and is very joyful and has a wonderful disposition. When you see him you can't help but smile.

It's so odd for me being a big dog person to have a small guy in the house but I just love having him around. He is a BIG dog in a SMALL dog's body. Anyone that meets him just absolutely falls in love with him. To know Scottie is to love Scottie. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt him will have a great friend for life!
Meghan

Scottie, Kirk & Spock are 7 month old very small, we think, sheltie mix pups who came from our favorite shelter in WV, Wetzel. They are very small little guys, Scottie is the smallest at 20 pounds so I doubt he will be more then 30 pounds full grown.

Please go to our website to obtain our online adoption application. You will need to register first; you will then be sent a password in about 1 hour. Then you will be able to complete the online application. We are notified immediately when one is complete.

All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions,
have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:

SPAYED/NEUTERED

Microchipping

Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia

On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus

Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.

Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough

Two De-Worming

No dog 6 months and up will ever leave L&F Dog Rescue without being spayed/neutered. Spay/Neuter is MANDATORY.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not place puppies in homes where no one will be home all day. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hour alone.

If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several petsitting service companies that we can recommend:

www.homesweethomepetsit.org/ in PA & DE

www.delawarepooperscoopers.com in PA, NJ, & DE

http://www.tlcpetsitting.net/ in MD

We also have a wonderful all day Doggy Day Care service:
Fuzzy Butts Doggy Day Care in Chadds Ford, PA
www.fuzzybuttsPA.com
(I have visited this facility and it is wonderful and reasonable)
