We are so happy to report that Lovely Willow met her new Dad today. She has been afraid of men due to past abuse so I wasn't sure how it would go -- but I watched her "pick" her new Dad right before my eyes. He has a business trip so she will stay with us until he is ready to bring her home. It was a very good day in rescue today!

This lovely creature was adopted by us back in 2005 to a "rescue person" from Harrisburg PA. Her "baby" picture is shown below when she was 6 months old.

We received a call a few months ago stating that a dog that was microchipped by us had been hit by a car.

We found that Willow's owner had become a "collector/hoarder" which while their intent might have been noble in the beginning -- it seldom works out for the animals in the long run. We found that she could no longer take care of her so she is thankfully back with us.

Willow did have a hair line fracture of her tibia but there was nothing our vet could do. We just had to provide her 6 weeks of bed-rest so she could heal and she now has a full recovery from her injuries.

Willow is a beautiful, soft hearted loving girl who I'm afraid was abused by men and children. She is afraid of men but warms up as soon as she realizes everything is OK. She barks at kids so we would not be able to adopt her to anyone with children under 12 years old.

She does have one major issue and that is that is she can jump (and has) a 5'-6' foot privacy fence! She will only be able to be adopted into a home that has Petstop installed or is willing to. We have a spare Petstop transmitter collar which can go home with her at no cost. Her new family would only need to have their home wired by Petstop. For more info visit: www.Petstop.com

Willow also has Lyme disease and we are of course treating her for that. She certainly deserves better then she has gotten in life so far. We feel very responsible for her pain since we made a huge mistake in choosing her previous owner.

Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed/or firm commitment prior to us processing an adoption application. Mention that you saw them at our website. http://www.petstop.com/

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several Petsitting service companies that we can recommend:
