UPDATE: 03-31-07 - I know there will be many disappointed people but Marimay went home today to begin her life with her new family. She has a Mom & Dad & a
2 legged brother who has promised to spoil her beyond belief. She was afraid when she first arrived due to her abuse issues but as time went on she warmed up.
Her new brother took her upstairs to get on his bed and she was really happy. She loves the pillow and the bed covers --- she slid all over them and looked 100% joyful. It was a good day in rescue to see that little girl finally with her forever family.
For those that applied for her, her brother Sundance is exactly like her in size and personality but he is an alpha male so we can only put him with submissive dogs. He is just as loving
and affectionate as his sister and is completely house-broken. He never ever goes to the bathroom in the house. Like Marimay he is calm, gentle and just so cute!!
UPDATE: Marimay is a pretty petite, and do mean petite pup. I do not think she will go over 25 pounds full grown. She and her brother Sundance are extremely sweet, loving, mild mannered adorable pups. Marimay is like an old soul and I just love her gentle spirit.
She is just delightful to watch her play outside. The world is all new to these pups.
We have found that she and her brother have been abused by children so we will not place them in homes with children under 12 years old.
She is already been spayed and ready to find her forever family.
Being their foster "auntie" I spend several hours a week with these little guys. They are absolutely wonderful, sweet and very loving. Marimay has learned to sit and wait for her treat as well as to use the doggie door in her foster home. She is very attentive and watches you as well as the other dogs intently. She enjoys to play with both male and female dogs. She listens well and comes when called. Marimay is also starting to become what I call a "mush ball" as she very much likes to nestle next to you and have her belly rubbed.
Overall, these are two of the most well-behaved puppies I have ever seen. They are usually very quiet, although they make their puppy grunts and growls during play. They are very excitable when you come home but settle down quickly and are very content with chewing a bone!
UPDATE: This is our female pup (she has the larger white mark on her forehead) Golden/Beagle mix Marimay. We brought these beautiful pups up from VA on our transport.
They are already up to date with all their shots and microchipped.
Marimay & Sundance are brother & sister Golden mix pups and were on death row at a shelter. The shelter they came from still GASSES puppies and dogs which is an incredibley painful death.
PLEASE NOTE: Please read ALL our adoption policies BEFORE applying for a puppy or dog. Any puppy under 5 months old MUST have their spay/neuter PRE-PAID through the adoption donation. There are NO exceptions.
Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed before we will proceed with processing an adoption application. If you need a fence for your dog, but are not permitted to have a physical fence, or chose not to, please visit our friends at Pet Stop. Mention that you saw them at our website.

For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.
We do not adopt our puppies under 4 months to people who work full-time. Part-time or work from home is OK. We do not believe in leaving infants in crates all day.
We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
All L&F dogs/pups have been:
Temperament tested and has been chosen for having sweet, gentle dispositions.
Each L&F dog/pup is living in foster homes with families.
Each L&F dog/pup have been:
Crate trained
Potty trained - or paper trained if pups
Already SPAYED/NEUTERED
(pups under 5 months must be prepaid)
Microchipped
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On Interceptor (Heartworm medication) & Frontline Plus (for the duration of their stay with us) - Plus they go with a one month
supply of both
Complete series of Distemper, Parvo vaccines and Rabies.
