UPDATE: Kirk's foster Mom called to say that he has at long last met his forever family and she and he were so very happy to meet them. She is assured that they will give our little boy all the love he deserves!
Update from Kirk's foster Mom:
Kirk has been such a joy since he has come into my home. He was very shy at first, but has come around and has shown what a treasure he is. He loves to play with other dogs, but is just as happy snuggling on the couch or chewing on a toy in his dog bed. He has good manners when waiting to be fed or treat handouts. He loves to just spend lazy afternoons outside on the deck or under the tree in the yard watching birds. He has been so good with the house training and I no longer have to crate him when I am not home. He has not chewed anything he is not supposed to. He will make such a loving companion to someone who loves to relax and has a low key life style. I think that is pretty good for a 6 month old puppy!
Update from Kirk's foster Mom: Kirk is such a love! He listens well and is eager to please. He loves to initiate play with my Jack Russell Winston. He loves toys and chewy bones. He will entertain himself for long periods of time. He has met my cat and doesn't know what to make of her so he whines and backs away. He enjoys playing in the yard, but since it's been so humid he is happy being inside in the air conditioning just chilling with his pals. He's not happy about being crated at night, and he will run under the bed hoping that we might forget and leave him there. He will go in, however, when we tell him "kennel". He is quiet and will not make a peep until my other dogs get up. He has been great with house training. He went once in my basement, while I was watching and was immediately reprimanded and sent outside. So far, no problem since. He is still a little shy, but is starting to show his true puppy personality, which is just lovely. He is a gentle soul.

All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:
SPAYED/NEUTERED
Microchipping
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Worming
No dog 6 months and up will ever leave L&F Dog Rescue without being spayed/neutered. Spay/Neuter is MANDATORY.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not place puppies in homes where no one will be home all day. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hour alone.
If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
We have several petsitting service companies that we can recommend:
www.homesweethomepetsit.org/ in PA & DE
www.delawarepooperscoopers.com in PA, NJ, & DE
http://www.tlcpetsitting.net/ in MD
We also have a wonderful all day Doggy Day Care service:
Fuzzy Butts Doggy Day Care in Chadds Ford, PA
www.fuzzybuttsPA.com
(I have visited this facility and it is wonderful and reasonable)
