UPDATE: Well, Ms. Shelby turned out to be a very, very lucky girl. She was spotted on our website and was adopted immediately by a wonderful family. We have been told already that she is fitting in beautifully as if she had always been there! It was a GOOD DAY in rescue!
UPDATE: Shelby is a pedigreed Cocker Spaniel and very sweet, gentle and loving. We had Shelby shaved down, she was such a mess, we had no choice. What
a cute little girl she really is. She seems very grateful to be out of that shelter and in a home with people who will take care of her. Please come to see how pretty she really is this Saturday at the Mingle.
UPDATE: I saw poor Shelby yesterday at the shelter and she was shaking like her teeth would fall out. I just could not stand to leave that darling little girl there in the shelter. She is very sweet and friendly and we hope we can find a loving home for her very soon.
Shelby is a seven year old Cocker Spaniel. Her owners were unable to care for her so she ended up at the SPCA hoping for a new family. Shelby is spayed, house trained, and good with kids. What more could you ask for? Well, she is cute and she is friendly. That about says it all.
If you would like to fill out an application, you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.

All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:
SPAYED/NEUTERED
Microchipping
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Worming
No dog 6 months and up will ever leave L&F Dog Rescue without being spayed/neutered. Spay/Neuter is MANDATORY.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not place puppies in homes where no one will be home all day. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hour alone.
If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
