UPDATE: Just as I had thought, Carson
is really coming around. Yesterday I go my first kisses. I had to leave him in my car for 10 minutes (he is wonderful in the car also) and when I came back he was so happy to see me, he gave me kisses. It was very sweet & touching that he is feeling that I'm his friend.

Right now he is asleep with his head leaning on my foot. He has picked my husband to be is very best buddy. He comes to him and leans on him like they've been together all his short life.

He is a sensitive little boy, I think that's just in his nature, but show him kindness and gentleness, and he will truly follow you anywhere! He is an adorable, pretty little boy.

I was told that Carson is a pedigreed Sheltie but I don't think so. I'm certain he is a mix. He is 19" at the shoulder and 29 1/2 pounds.

He does have some minor issues listed below, so his placement will only go to those we feel are qualified to handle his special needs. Due to his fears, it would probably also be best if he lived without small children. We also want him to have a completely fenced in yard.

He just wants to curl up on your lap so I would like him to find him a home where HE is considered their "child" by his new family. He gets along wonderfully with all the dogs & cats here. He is very playful with the dogs and I know when he trusts more, he'll be playful with us also. He does love balls and throws them in the air. Too cute!

Carson, formerly Toby, has been here for over a week now and we're finding out more about our little man. I believe he is barely 9 months old. He still goes to the bathroom like a little girl!

I've seen how afraid he is of what he considers being "captured" again. He was captured by animal control with that horrible metal lasso that they must use. Now is leery when you reach for him. Not in the fear biter sense, but rather he scoots off so you can't grab him. I've seen this before and I'm sure he'll come around.

We will need him to stay with us in foster care for awhile longer until we can assure him that it's OK to trust ALL humans.

The SPCA in Georgetown, DE saved his life by capturing him since he was running loose. Had they not, he could have been killed by a car or starved to death, but he has been traumatized by that event.

Once he comes to you (liverwurst & meatballs seems to get the best results so far) then he curls in your lap for hugs and comfort. I believe he'll be a wonderful little lap boy. The other night he met my partner Lisa and he just backed up and sat on her lap and cuddled up.

He will need to be adopted by someone who is "very sensitive" to what he has been through. He also seems to have lived outside all his short life. Coming inside a home is also new to him. He was shocked at all the sounds of a house like running water, dish washer, TV. Already he is fitting in but I can tell this is all new to him.
He stands at the backdoor and does not think he is allowed in.

He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He is submissive and Sabrina has rolled him around the yard and he joyfully get's up and runs around with her some more. He plays with the pups and has great respect for my own large dogs Chico & Yushi who each weigh over 100 pounds.

We just had him neutered and up to date with all his shots, he is Heartworm & Lyme negative, started on Heartgard & Frontline Plus.

He is crate trained and I would consider him house-broken. He has not
had one accident and when he has to go he comes to you & pushes his nose under your hand. What a good little boy he is!

He is also coming to me more often for affection and his tail is wagging more.
He is a sensitive little guy but he wants and needs human contact.

We were lucky enough to pull this beautiful, sweet creature who is approximately 9 month old pup from the Georgetown SPCA. It might hurt his feelings, but he is so pretty he should have been a girl!

We just got him today, he will be neutered on Tuesday. We will need at leasts 2 full weeks to evaluate him but we already know he is a wonderful little boy. He is only 30 pounds and I would be surprised if he hit 35 pounds.
