Sorry everyone, my sister-in-law Mary adopted all three pups, Mandy, Coco, and Ben. We could not have gotten these "shelter kids" better homes then this!

This chow mix pup, came in from a great shelter in West Virginia who really cares about the dogs who end up there. The pups and their Mom were horrifically infested with fleas and in terrible condition due to neglect. They have all been treated and are flea-free now.

Luckily my sister-in-law Mary agreed to foster Mom (Ginger) and her pups until they are weaned. They are now 8 weeks old and will be ready to go home.

DETAILED UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM:
Mandy: House broken the second day of arrival at the age of six weeks by using a doggie door and following Mom outside. She is very fluffy and playful and would stay awake all day if you let her. She is indeed the most active and smartest and she does like to be held but not for long.....she'd rather play.

The puppies have received a detailed physical by a well respected Vet who actually wanted one of the puppies but his wife said "no" because her husband "The Vet" works 10-hr. days and she already has a dog and four kids to take care for (wife didn't see the pups). This Vet said with being a Chow mix, they will be more beautiful when full grown and because they are mixed, they will have a nice disposition as he already sees it in them. He further said, he has been a Vet for 15 years and has never seen cutier puppies and would not have wanted to bring one home to his four kids if he didn't think they would make an exceptional pet.

A standard day for the pups is: They wake up around 7 a.am. and are let out of their cage. The first thing they do is run to the doggie door and go outside to go the bathroom. They run back inside and sit quietly and look at me while I'm preparing their breakfast. The all eat out of their own bowl but still nurse off Mom which I have been pulling them away from. After they eat, they play with each other and with their toys. They don't chew on the furniture because they have connected that anything on the floor is their toy. They run over to me as they all want their turn on being held. They play for about an hour and then fall asleep. Once they fall asleep, I pick them up and put them in their cage. This routine repeats at lunch time and at dinner time. Around 8 PM, I let them out of their cage again to play before they finally go to bed for the night around 9 PM They sleep all night and are very content with being in the cage for sleep time.

All three puppies are healthy, received their first set of shots, their heartworm meds. and are currently being dewormed. They are all house broken using a doggie door while they are out of their cage. They have connected that outside is their bathroom and because of this, I believe that if you don't have a doggie dog, they would go over to the door if they had to go. During the night when they are in the cage, a training pad is placed in the back portion of the cage, and they do tickle on it as they are in the cage for at least 8 hrs. during the night (Puppies can only hold it for 3 hrs.) They have not pooped inside the cage as they do that outside after they eat. They all love to play, love to be held and are all, as the Vet said, the cutest puppies ever!
