UPDATE! I am just thrilled to announce that Milah has been adopted by the same family that adopted our beautiful Sadie when she lost her home after 4 years. Here is the message her family sent us:
George, Margaret and I all agree - we have already fallen in love with beautiful sweet Milah.  We will adopt her and give her all the love a beautiful soul like her deserves.  She should always have been cherished and loved - we will make sure that happens from now on.  God bless you both and thank you for what you do.  Sadie and Milah will be best friends forever.

This stunning young lady was returned to us after 6 years through no fault of her own. You can see from her original profile below that she used to love kids -- but her family allowed the toddlers to "corner her" so now she is not fond of children. We would not consider adopting her to anyone who has children under 12 years old. We are actually hoping to find a mature couple who would love to have a wonderful companion. Thankfully she still LOVES people AND kitties -- she adores KITTIES! -- just not small people -- This is an update from her Foster Mom:

Milah came to us as a foster about a month ago after being returned by her family. At first, she didn’t seem to know what to do with my 3 dogs. It seemed she had forgotten how much fun it can be to have another dog as a playmate. But within days she was running and playing with the other dogs and having a great time.

She also loves the cats that live here. She gladly gives up her bed for a kitty. She simply adores them.

She loves people, especially men it seems. From the moment she met her new foster dad, she wanted to cuddle with him, on the chair, on the couch, on the bed. She’s a very happy dog whose tail is wagging almost 24/7. She is technically "mature"  but she appears and acts like a much younger dog. She has no problem keeping up with the younger dogs here.

She has been very generous, letting the other dogs play with the toys she brought with her, and she shows no food aggression, either towards people or other animals.

Milah is truly a joy to have around.

UPDATE: Well, Collette met our official "kid-testers" today (2 boys, one is 2 and the other is 6) and we can say with absolute certainty that she LOVES KIDS!!! She just thought that they were the cutest, sweetest smelling, most wonderful things in the whole wide world. She is really going to make some family very very happy! She just LOVES LOVES LOVES people, kids, dogs & cats. She is just so adorable.

She is very sweet, about 1 year old, gentle, calm, playful and a HUGE wiggle butt & kisser! I love it when they are so happy to see you that they just wiggle from side to side. Her coat is gorgeous and soft as velvet.

When she met my husband she was quite taken with him. She looked like she wanted to marry him! She loves everyone but really seems to be taken by men. Perhaps she had a man in her life before who was kind to her. I'm sure she misses him very much.

She was surrendered at the pound, they still call them "pounds" in West Virginia. She had been dumped on a farm where she hung out about 2 weeks in the cold. Then she was brought into the shelter. She had black around her neck where she was obviously been tied with a choker for some time. Her paperwork said: Reason for giving up animal:
"Don't want her!"

We are accepting application on this beauty. As with all L&F Rescue dogs, we've had her spayed, up to date with all her shots, de-wormed, on Heartworm medication & Frontline Plus, crate & potty trained.

To apply, you'll need to register, they will send you a password in about
1 hour -- then you can fill out the application. We are notified immediately when an application has been completed.
