Description:

UPDATE 12/21/06:  Courtesy of Dr. Brad Gray, DMV - Brandywine Vet Hospital, Chadds Ford PA
Shi'Ann is a great little puppy that has a broken elbow. The fracture went through her growth plate and was repaired with two pins and a tension band wire. She should recover fully. The
hardware should be removed in the near future after healing. Her vet bill is currently $625 and will be about $200 in the future for follow up films and hardware removal.

Shi'Ann came home last night to one of our foster families.  She is resting comfortably and has been very alert. However, she seems to keep forgetting that she has a broken leg and wants to run and play with the other dogs.  We are very lucky that Shi'Ann is with a "work-at-home" foster mom!

UPDATE:  12/18/2006 Shi' Ann is a very active puppy, always running and jumping and playing with her rescue friends.  Unfortunately, Shi' Ann's body couldn't keep up with her mind today.  She had an accident while frolicking and broke her leg.  Since she is a puppy her muscles and bones are still growing and have not fully strengthened, hence why she so easily broke her leg.  Shi' Ann is currently at the vet with her new rescue friend Austin and will be operated on tomorrow.  Like Austin, once Shi' Ann has had her surgery, she will also be in need of physical therapy while her leg heals.  Now, of course, this regime of treatment will extend beyond the normal costs of our rescue dogs.

UPDATE:  This pretty little puppy girl escaped the gas chamber in VA because we agreed to take her. We're told she is sweet, loving, and ready to give her whole heart to anyone who so much as pat's her on the head. Think of all the love and devotion she will have welled up inside her when she finds out what it's like to be a puppy who is loved and adored!

Please help if you can by offering to foster Shi' Ann (application is required) or adopting her.

You can also help by sponsoring Shi' Ann.  Lost and Found Dog Rescue provides a caring and a nurturing environment until we adopt each individual dog.  However, the same way it costs money to care for a sick dog, it also costs money to provide constant and continual care, especially for a special needs dog like Shi' Ann. By sponsoring a dog, you can help to alleviate this cost and ensure the best care for a dog of your choice!  In addition, you are also helping to ensure that your specific dog founds the perfect forever home!  Sponsoring a dog may take the form as a weekly or monthly donation, or you can make a one-time donation.  It's your choice!
